My mother said she had never been to an aquarium that she knew of, and I laughed at her. Growing up in California and traveling with her grandparents and parents as much as she did, I told her she had to have been at LEAST to the Monterey Bay Aquarium! It would be pathetic if her true first visit to any aquarium was in Phoenix, AZ, when she is a NATIVE Californian, for crying out loud!!! Things started out kind of creepy, in the first picture, with the Moray eels, and ended up even creepier, with us standing in front of a mirror with metal carvings of sea creatures in front of it. I thought it would be a nice photo op, but it turned out be the likes of us landing smack dab in the middle of the TWILIGHT ZONE, even after I edited those two pictures for nearly 30 minutes! In between were lots of colorful fish (One of my favorite being the Long Horned Cowfish--see if you can spot it...), interesting facts, and loads of fun. Dylan even took some of the pictures towards the end of our visit. He is becoming quite the photographer! We ended up in the gift shop with two MORE new stuffed animals--one can NEVER have enough--we all know that, AND rubber stingrays that could stretch to over a foot long! Every day, I realize that spending time with family and friends is my most favorite thing to do anymore!
